Australia has banned heavylift Antonov freighters at major airports, with AN124 and AN225 services to be banned at Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth from 01 September - along with Boeing 727 freighters. Transport minister Anthony Albanese said the aircraft were "an ongoing source of concern for residents" worried about excessive noise.
