JAL to sell ground support arms

Japan Airlines will sell two subsidiaries that provide ground support services at Central Japan International Airport, near Nagoya.

The sale, to Suzuyo for an estimated JPY1 billion, will be for 95 per cent of its stakes in both Chubu Sky Support and JAL Sky Nagoya.

JAL also will transfer the Nagoya branch of a cargo-handling subsidiary to Suzuyo.

The moves will remove some 980 personnel from group payroll, according to JAL.
