Computer virus to blame for Spanair crash?

The Spanair JK-5022 crash two years ago might have been caused by a computer virus.

Reports say a ground computer - responsible for triggering an alarm after three in-flight failures are reported by the plane - failed.

The computer at airline headquarters should have emitted an alarm if a fault for three similar technical problems was identified.

The computer failed to do so and also was implicated in a spam attack on customers that investigators said could have originated from a phishing attack.
