Mexicana needs US$100m-plus

Mexico's bankrupt Mexicana says it needs between US$100 million and US$150 million to stay in the air.

Already, cabin crew have agreed to suspend pay for two months and a deal has been done with pilots.

In a statement, Mexicana said pilots and flight attendants had agreed to take a stake in the company in exchange for new labour terms “that would support the viability of the company through efficient costs and a rethinking of collective labour agreements”.

The carrier reportedly also has spoken to three possible investors in the past few days.
