Amadeus listing puts Air France group in black

Europe's biggest airline, Air France group, has posted quarterly net income of EUR736 million after a EUR1.03 billion gain from its stake in the Amadeus GDS, which listed in April.

Cargo posted operating income of EUR11 million compared with a year-earlier loss of EUR197 million after sales rose 42 per cent.

Operating losses in the cabins narrowed to EUR142 million from EUR338 million on an 8.8 per cent gain in revenue and the passenger business would have made a EUR3 million operating profit without the Icelandic volcano eruption in April, the company said.
