Dan Brutto, president of UPS International said: "Technology is the key to helping shippers, particularly exporters and importers, streamline their global supply chains."
The changes give importers more control and fewer delays of their shipments by putting control over inbound logistics and costs in the hands of the importer rather than the exporter.
Available from July, UPS Import Control will allow importers to use CampusShip or Internet Shipping to generate shipping labels and commercial invoices for small-package import shipments and forward those materials to the international shipper (exporter).
For freight shippers, Quantum View Manage is being enhanced to provide additional shipment details, document images (Commercial Invoice, Packing List and Re-weigh Certificate) and advanced freight alerts and notifications.
UPS also is enhancing its shipping system, CampusShip, to support air freight shipments. WorldShip and Internet Shipping already provide air and LTL freight support.
Also in July, customers will be able to self-enroll for UPS Paperless Invoice for their international shipments.
