Toll buys Qantas freight arm

Melbourne, Australia-based Toll Group says it has acquired Australian carrier Qantas's Asia Pacific express air freight business (DPEX) for an undisclosed sum.

Toll managing director Paul Little said DPEX would support Toll's ongoing expansion and development in the Asian region and would be part of the growth strategy for the Toll Global Express (TGX) division.

Toll's TGX Asia Pacific operations include Deltec, Skynet and Kwikmail. DPEX will provide additional scale and coverage across a network of 19 countries in Asia, Little said, adding that DPEX would contribute more than A$30 million in revenue and was expected to be earnings per share accretive in its first year of ownership.
