Greens want to block ATA's EU emissions review

Increasing efforts to regulate and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from aircraft are bringing the aviation industry into conflict with green lobbies.

A coalition of three US-based environmental groups, namely the Environmental Defense Fund, Earthjustice and the Center for Biological Diversity plus European organisations including WWF-UK, Transport & Environment and the Aviation Environment Federation in Europe have intervened in a Judicial Review organised through US airline association the Air Transport Association of America (ATA).

The English High Court ruled recently that the Judicial Review could proceed.

The greens want it stopped.
