'Bomber' gets 30 year sentence

The British Airways computer expert who planned a 9/11-style attack on the UK carrier has been jailed for 30 years. Rajib Karim, 31, had plotted to plant a bomb on a plane as part of a conspiracy with Anwar Al-Awlaki, a radical preacher associated with al Qaeda.

Sentencing him at Woolwich Crown Court, the judge said they were offences "of the utmost gravity" and he recommended that Karim be automatically deported after he has completed his sentence.
