Customers subject to import duties and taxes in New Zealand can reduce their customs clearance and delivery time by taking advantage of the option to pay import duties to New Zealand Customs directly through a new service from FedEx. To access the scheme a customer needs to apply to New Zealand Customs for “Deferred Payment Scheme” (DPS) approval and advise FedEx of their DPS account number. Deferred Payment customers can then settle duties and taxes payable on their entire month's transactions with a single payment.
