US AND AUSTRALIAN SOFTWARE COMPANIES MERGE

Forwarding and logistics software company Australian-based Eagle Datamation International, has merged with Fountainhead International, a US-based developer of the CargoWise and Shiptrax products. The new business becomes one of the world’s largest software providers to multi-modal freight forwarders.

The merger combines annual revenues of more than AUD20 million with 180 staff globally and more than 1,000 clients and 25,000 users in 40 countries.

The two management teams will remain in place and the merged business expects to increase job opportunities along with product development.

Fountainhead and edi - both boasting around 40 per cent annual growth - say the growth rate should remain high in existing markets and increase as the new company targets developing markets in China, India and the EU.

Richard White, founder of edi, said, “The two businesses compliment each other perfectly, we both bring significant skills to the table. With the award winning ediEnterprise and system as a global platform we are already 2-3 years ahead of our global rivals, we are focused and intent on increasing the tempo of product development and international supply chain integration.”

Cris Arens, Fountainhead’s founder and president, said, “The culture and strategic fit are perfect. We will create a global organization capable of supporting clients no matter where their business takes them. Clients eager to expand internationally need systems already in place whenever and wherever they hit the ground. Our new company is superbly positioned to meet those needs.”
