ACCC SAYS NO TO TOLL TAKEOVER OF PATRICK

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) have blocked the proposed acquisition of Patrick Corporation by Toll Holdings.

“The ACCC will be seeking an undertaking from Toll that it will not proceed with the acquisition.” ACCC chairman Graeme Samuel said. “If the undertaking is not given, the ACCC will take appropriate action in the Federal Court.”

The ACCC investigation found that the proposed acquisition was likely to substantially lessen competition in several markets in the transport sector.
