EMIRATES SKYCARGO SETS SIGHTS ON SOUTH AMERICA

In a strategic move to expand in markets across South America, starting with Brazil, Emirates SkyCargo has appointed Scand Air Cargo as its Cargo Sales Agent (CSA) in Sao Paulo. The appointment coincides with the carrier’s participation in Intermodal South America, the region’s largest trade show focused on the markets of foreign trade, logistics and transport.

Prakash Nair, Emirates manager Network Cargo Sales Development said: "Participation in Intermodal South America has been an important step in developing relationships with key players, potential customers and in raising awareness of our service offerings. We have chosen to work with Scand as they are backed by a solid track-record and have an excellent reputation in the local market."

The appointment of CSA is expected to lead to an increased focus on South America by Dubai-based airline. The carrier is looking to increase trade access to key markets including Japan, India, China, Thailand, Hong Kong, Australasia, South Africa and the Middle East.
