Singapore reviews Calcutta plan |
|
Tuesday, 18 March 2008 |
After the Airports Authority of India asked airlines to pay late fees for keeping goods in its Calcutta warehouse during the March 12-13 staff strike, Singapore Airlines says it may delay plans to introduce an additional freighter service to the city. Affected airlines said the cargo could not be cleared because the airport’s staff were not available.
The fine was subsequently waived, but many airlines and agents suffered losses running into tens of millions of rupees. –Jack Handley
