Europe's IAG Cargo says commercial revenues rose eight per cent to EUR1.08 billion in 2017, attributed mainly to a 5.6 per cent year-over-year increase in volumes and a 2.2 per cent improvement in yields. (Capacity grew 4.8 per cent in the period).

The British International Freight Association (BIFA), which represents UK-based freight forwarders, has called for more infrastructure development and echoed others' complaints to government regarding delays in the third-runway project for Heathrow Airport.
Adaptalift inks dnata Australia deal for motorised fleet

Dnata Australia has signed a long-term fleet improvement agreement with Adaptalift GSE to be delivered via a program of replacement, renewal and refurbishment of its ground service equipment. The agreement sees Adaptalift GSE take ownership of dnata's entire motorised fleet across the six Australian ports where it operates, combined with a full service and maintenance agreement.

Brussels Airlines Cargo gains CEIV status

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has awarded Brussels Airlines Cargo its Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics (CEIV Pharma) certification.
Brussels Airlines Cargo business development & interline manager Reinout Puissant said: “During this journey and through local and international cross-industry collaboration such as Pharma.Aero, (we are focused on) end-to-end transparency for all stakeholders.”
MB, MAN in electric truck trials

In Europe, Mercedes Benz and MAN are testing electric trucks in 'real life' environments.
Ten MB vehicles in two variants, with gross weights of 18 or 25 tonnes, will be handed over to customers to test for everyday performance and efficiency under real-life conditions.
Range will be up to 200 kilometres, with power provided by two lithium-ion batteries with an output of 240 kWh.
Telair okayed for B737 FLS containers

A new Flexible Loading System (FLS) for all current production and in-service B737 aircraft has received certification.
The Telair International AB system allows 737 operators to carry containerised cargo (baggage, mail, and parcel freight) in the lower hold of the aircraft, along with bulk-loaded bags.
