What’s hot and what’s not?
AUSTRALIANS travel destination preferences change from year to year, according to research, but in predictable America, even some perennial favourites are ranking lower.
Among US states, California and Florida weigh in once again as the perennial favourites. Interest in visiting Florida, however, declined significantly over 2005 levels, presumably as a result of concerns about uncertain weather during the late summer and early fall.
Hawaii, Arizona and Colorado rounded out the top five.
While we’d rarely use American consumers as a guide for anything, the destinations of greatest interest to Americans all have one thing in common: They are blessed by natural beauty. They include the Neighbour Islands of Hawaii and Honolulu, as well as the Florida Keys. The national parks and mountain resorts of Colorado make up the remainder of the top five.
