AirAsia seeks government support for Sri Lanka carrier

Malaysia-based low-cost airline AirAsia has offered to set up a new budget airline in Colombo, Sri Lanka that would be 51 per cent owned by the Sri Lanka government and would cost the goverment nothing. 
However, Public Enterprise Development minister Kabir Hashim told the Sunday Times: “Proposals of this nature have to be carefully evaluated to determine the viability and ramifications on the bleeding national carrier (SriLankan).”
