Reed splits roles, appoints Burchett ceo

Reed Exhibitions UK has confirmed the appointment of Chet Burchett as chief executive of Reed Exhibitions reporting to executive chair Mike Rusbridge, who currently holds dual roles.

Burchett, regional president The Americas (South America, USA and Mexico) will take on his new role in January 2015. He joined Reed Exhibitions in early 2004 from Burson-Marsteller. Burchett is currently based in USA and will relocate to the UK at the beginning of next year.

After more than 20 years as chairman and chief executive of Reed Exhibitions, Mike Rusbridge said of the division of the roles: “Reed Exhibitions has an exciting future ahead with strong growth expected and a clear plan of what will be required to realise our goals over the coming years. I believe, as both chairman and chief executive, now is the right time to separate these two roles to ensure we remain focused on our strategic direction while executing well on the objectives we set ourselves each year.”

Commenting on the new appointment, Rusbridge said: “Chet has driven new ways of working regionally, such as pricing and customer insights, directed Reed Exhibitions’ expansion into both South America and Mexico and has been instrumental in leading our collaboration initiatives globally. I am confident that Reed Exhibitions, under Chet’s management, will continue to provide innovative solutions to our customers’ needs around the world and achieve the ambitious growth targets we have set ourselves.”
