PNG carrier buys ATR STOL variant and looks to expansion

PNG Air has ordered three ATR 42-600S aircraft to replace its ageing Dash 8 fleet. The carrier, based in Port Moresby and with strong national investment support, already operates a fleet of seven ATR 72-600, which will remain in service.

The carrier is determined to boost its domestic network as it seeks to form viable codeshare arrangements which will make it a key Asia Pacific operator.
