Tianjin Air launches Melbourne run

Tianjin Airlines has begun a non-stop A330-200 service between Chongqing, China and Melbourne, Australia.
The service operates three times per week, adding a further 78,745 seats on the route.
 
Simon Gandy, chief of aviation at Melbourne Airport said: “Chongqing is a major manufacturing hub for automobile, steel and aluminium industries and is considered a financial centre for China’s south west.
 
“Chongqing is home to more than 30 million people, making it one of China’s biggest cities and as China is Victoria’s largest inbound tourism market, we anticipate this route to be a busy one."
 
Flights depart Melbourne on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 13:40hrs arriving in Chongqing at 21:40hrs. Services depart Chongqing at 22:10hrs arriving into Melbourne at 11:40hrs the next day.
