US tourist dies on Aussie trek

A US tourist has died trekking the Larapinta Trail in Australia's Northern Territory.
The man had set off with a companion to scale Mount Sonder but at some point they became separated and it is thought the victim took a wrong turn when descending from the peak.
Superintendent Rob Burgoyne told media that the man's partner raised the alarm and a search began, and the body eventually was located about 400 metres down the track where he'd turned the wrong way.

Chris Day of Parks and Wildlife said dehydration was an issue in the area. "Unfortunately people become dehydrated very rapidly before even realising that it's even happening," Day said.
