ITE, covering Hong Kong and southern China, again provides exhibitors with a single platform for channel and direct sales, trade and public promotions when it opens June 13 through 16 this year.
The June 13 and 14 days are trade only, requiring a business card for registration and admission. On trade days last year, ITE drew over 12,000 buyers and trade visitors from Hong Kong (70 per cent of the total) and China (20 per cent).
Some 90,000 consumers visited last year with 84 per cent FIT. This year’s public days are June 15 and 16.
Featuring more than 50 countries and regions (about half from outside Asia) and around 700 exhibitors of which over 85 per cent will come from abroad, ITE promises to be even bigger and better this year. Official pavilions and stands from regular exhibitors China, Japan, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Nepal, Cambodia, Switzerland, France, Taitung and Egypt will be joined by new exhibitors from Cyprus, Ecuador, Istanbul, Peru, Moscow, Madagascar, Spain and others.
ITE covers leisure and MICE travel.
Around 200 exhibitors will target the MICE market and welcome about 6,000 travel agents / operators and 2,600 from MICE companies and corporations. ITE also features theme travel.
In 2018, ITE surveys identified trade visitors were interested in Study Tours (28 per cent) and Overseas Weddings (21 per cent), while consumers liked Eco-tourism (35 per cent) and Sport Tourism (23 per cent).
ITE features more than 10 travel themes, some of which involve displays, travel blogs and photography, including a travel blog and photo competition in Chinese.
New this year is an Oxford Primary English Writing Competition.
Some official pavilions also will highlight theme travel. Last year for example, Hong Kong hosted Meetings on Cruise, Macau hosted Gastronomy and Switzerland had Sport & Eco Tourism.
ITE’s B2B program includes some 30 seminars, industry forums and Business Matching for buyers and sellers. Its B2C program includes over 100 travel seminars, cultural performances and lucky draws.
Organised by TKS Exhibition Services, ITE Hong Kong 2019, the 33rd ITE on leisure and the 14th ITE for MICE, will be held from 13 to 16 June 2019 at Halls 1A to 1E of the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.
