CSIRO in mosquito/dengue initiative

Scientists from Australia’s national science agency, CSIRO, and the University of California San Diego have engineered the first breed of genetically modified mosquitoes resistant to spreading all fourtypes of the dengue virus.
Dengue infects more than 390 million people every year.

With at least 24 reported deaths, thousands of homes lost and uncountable wildlife losses in Australia, Delta Air Lines is to donate US$250,000 in support of the Australian Red Cross as part of bushfire disaster response and humanitarian relief.

HIA sets passenger record

Qatar’s Doha Hamad International Airport (HIA) served a record 38,786,422 passengers in 2019, the most since the start of its operations in 2014.
