The Meetings Events Association (MEA) of Australia has reported a loss of A$70,768 for the financial year ended 30 June 2009, compared to a profit of A$16,393 in 2008.
The Air Transport Association of America (ATA) says September passenger revenue - based on a sample group of carriers - fell 19 per cent compared to the same month in 2008. This marks the 11th consecutive month in which passenger revenue has declined from the prior year, fueled primarily by the 10th consecutive month of ticket price declines.
Chicago, USA-based United Airlines has reported a Q3 loss of US$57 million as revenues dropped 20 per cent.

Many US airlines reported a deceleration in the decline of monthly passenger revenue for September, with passenger revenue for a sample of US airlines down 19 per cent from a year ago as opposed to a comparable 21 per cent decline in August, the Air Transportation Association said.

Subject to government approvals, Latin American budget carrier GOL and Iberia, Spain's largest air transport group, will operate a code agreement possibly including their frequent flyer programs, GOL's SMILES and Iberia's Plus.
London, UK’s Gatwick Airport is being bought by the owners of London City Airport in a GBP1.5 billion deal involving GBP1.455 million in cash, plus further payments of up to GBP55 million.
