The Ghan rail service between Adelaide and Darwin will add a new level of rail luxury - Platinum Service – from 10 September.
“Platinum Service introduces a new spacious deluxe cabin with a level of appointment that matches the best train cabins in the world,” said Tony Braxton-Smith, chief executive, Great Southern Rail.
Platinum Service will be offered in just 25 cabins in five carriages that accommodate up to 50 guests. This service will be available once a week on The Ghan from Adelaide to Darwin and once a week on The Ghan from Darwin to Adelaide.
“Almost twice the size of the Gold Service cabins, the new Platinum cabin has been designed to a brief that called for all of the modern comforts in classic style with a distinctly Australian character,” said Braxton-Smith. “To complement this, we have also created a number of deluxe touches to the service, such as twenty-four hour in-cabin steward service.”
