Strike-threatened UK carrier British Airways says it will operate flights between London and Sydney over the first threatened cabin crew strike period 20-22 March, but won't serve hot meals, children's meals or offer a duty free service.
The limited services will enable flights to operate with fewer cabin crew while still satisfying the UK's Civil Aviation Authority staff levels.
Meanwhile, although there are no public odds on the strike simply fizzling out, commentators say the fear of losing flight benefits might prompt many staff who voted in favour of the strike to turn up for work anyway.
