Wednesday, June 04, 2014
Middle East airlines are expected to deliver a net profit of US$1.6 billion this year, a profit per passenger of US$8.98 and a margin on revenues of 2.6 per cent, according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

This gives the region's airlines the second highest profit margin per passenger in the world after North American airlines’ US$11.09.
