Outstanding service award for Donaghy

AEG Ogden Group Director of Convention Centres, Geoff Donaghy, has been recognised for his outstanding service to the meetings industry with an IMEX Academy Award for the Asia Pacific.


In addition to overseeing AEG Ogden’s stable of convention centres in Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin, Kuala Lumpur and the Sydney Exhibition Centre at Glebe Island, Donaghy has direct oversight of new development projects, including International Convention Centre Sydney, Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre and a new facility currently in design in Hyderabad, India.

Donaghy is also president of the International Association of Congress Centres (AIPC), and representative to the Joint Meetings Industry Council (JMIC). He is also a former chairman of the Business Events Council of Australia and has previously been awarded the Australia Centenary Medal by the federal government, the Australian industry’s Outstanding Contribution Award, and the JMIC’s Global Power and Profile Award.
