You don’t have to travel to Africa to see cheetahs, crocodiles, rhinos and elephants – they’re within an hour’s drive of Brisbane Airport at the Sunshine Coast.
This is the message of a new joint venture between Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd (SCDL) and Australia Zoo.
Through the new arrangement, SCDL and Australia Zoo aim to make the Sunshine Coast one of Australia’s premier destinations for attractions and events.
Simon Ambrose, chief executive SCDL said: “Events and attractions bring the region to life and play a vital role in attracting visitors and supporting the region’s $2.5 billion tourism industry.
“Australians and international travellers generally know about the Sunshine Coast’s beaches and increasingly, the Hinterland areas, but we also have a dynamic range of attractions that make the region ideal for tourists and conference groups. Australia Zoo’s extensive collection of exotic and Australian wildlife is a great way of highlighting this."
