DTG launches res system

Bangkok-based tour wholesaler Diethelm Travel Group (DTG) has launched a new proprietary reservation system which is available for all 11 countries in its portfolio.

The platform will provide clients access to increased information and streamlined booking capabilities for all DGT products, including hotels, transfers, excursions and holidays.

Customers will be able to take advantage of the cloud-based system’s XML connectivity to completely customise itineraries and receive instant confirmations on line. Along with access to up-to-date information on all services and packages other system features include:

- The ability to download relevant tariffs from tariff portals.
- Full itinerary at the time of booking.
- A fully integrated “Assignment Center” that manages all ground services and brings together customers, guides and vehicles giving instant access to customers’ whereabouts.

An extranet where suppliers can load contracts, add allotments or confirm bookings online.

System integration with payment service Cybersource.

Additionally, the platform’s design allows clients to conveniently manage reservations and analyse information from their computer, tablet or mobile phone.

"The new reservation system and online booking platform will revolutionise the way both we and our B2B clients do business,” said Maarten Groeneveld, chief executive DGT. "As the travel industry continues to move into the on line world and use big data to its advantage, DGT will be at the forefront of pursuing technology that enables us to provide exceptional service while also helping support our clients’ bottom line.”

The company will first roll out the platform in Thailand, Singapore, Maldives, Hong Kong and Bhutan by the end of June.

Booking services for the company’s other six markets, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Vietnam, will go live in the coming months.
