Ebola warning level raised

The Australian government is advising against travel to Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea in the wake of the most serious recorded outbreak of the ebola virus disease.

This reflects the seriousness of the outbreak and the ongoing challenges in containing it.

Anyone who must travel there also should be aware that a range of travel restrictions and screening procedures apply in those countries, including the closure of some border crossings. Further closures may occur with little notice.
