Bestway adds Iran tour

Vancouver-based Bestway Tours and Safaris has added a journey to explore the artistic heritage of Iran with a special emphasis on the Persian Gardens. The tour is escorted by renowned landscape architect, horticulturist and garden historian Jill Cherry. Airfares are extra.

The travel blurb says the tour will cover legendary to modern Persian Gardens, heritage of over 5000 years. This tour explores historical sites, palaces, mansions, mosques, museums and above all, the Persian Gardens. As the ‘cradle of civilization’, Persia and modern-day Iran have much to excite the garden enthusiast and lover of fine arts. Tour members will visit and learn about the architecture at gardens that inspired poets like Hafiz, Saadi, Omar Khayyam, Ferdowsi. The 15 days itinerary covers Tehran, the ancient city of Bam, the Shahzadeh Garden in Mahan, the Pahlevanpour Garden in Mehriz and the desert oasis of Yazd, home to the Zoroastrian Temple of Fire and Towers of Silence and the renowned Doulat-a Bagh Garden. At the historical city of Shiraz the tour visits its many historical gardens and the nearby historical sites of Persepolis and Pasargadae.
