Holidaymakers using couriers to save bag cash

More UK holidaymakers than ever before are sending their baggage by courier to save money and hassle.

No-frills airlines including Ryanair now charge up to GBP75 to check a 20kg bag for a high season flight, so the cost for a return trip could be GBP150.

Couriers like SendMyBag however are charging a maximum GBP40 for 20kg of luggage travelling one way at peak holiday times to popular destinations such as Greece.

The bags are picked up from passengers' homes and delivered to their hotels.
