ANA wins Haneda-USA slots

New York and Chicago are likely to benefit from new daytime takeoff and landing slots for flights between Tokyo, Japan's Haneda Airport and the US granted to All Nippon Airways.

The airport currently allots only eight slot pairs for US destinations, all of which fall between 11 pm and 6 am.

However, from late October, carriers will be able to offer flights to the US east coast that depart and arrive during the day.

Two day and two night slot pairs will be added, with one of each allotted to Japanese carriers and the others to US airlines. The current late-night flights will be moved to the daytime.
