Airbus says A380 cut 'only temporary'

European plane maker Airbus has announced a 50 per cent cut to its A380 production because of weak demand - it will build one a month from 2018.

Airbus Group chief executive Tom Enders said he hoped the cutbacks would last for "just a year or two", saying he remained optimistic the market for the superjumbo would recover.
