Pound fall hits EUR exchange rates at airports

Travellers at the UK's Heathrow and Gatwick airports are being warned not to exchange money there after being offered “abominable” exchange rates of less than EUR1 to the pound.

The pound is trading at between EUR0.96 to EUR1, (less after commission and fees are taken out).

“Nobody should buy foreign currency at a bureau in an airport. It’s abominable. It’s a monumental, horrendous rip-off,” said Martin Lewis, the founder of the consumer advice site MoneySavingExpert.com.
