UK warns against InselAir

The UK Foreign Office has issued a travel advice for destinations served by Caribbean-based InselAir, which flies to the USA, Jamaica and Colombia and carried around 1.4 million passengers last year.

It said UK government staff have been advised to avoid travelling on InselAir - as have staff employed by the USA and Netherlands governments - due to safety concerns.

Insel Air operates 70 flights a day to 26 destinations, mainly in the Caribbean. It plans new services to Antigua, Barbados and Cali.

It currently has interline partnerships with several international airlines including Air Berlin, KLM and Air France.
