United to raise its game against LCCs on Atlantic

USA-based United Airlines is to compete more aggressively against long-haul low-cost carriers (LCCs) on the Atlantic.
Its president Scott Kirby told employees "We're going to have to get more aggressive competing with airlines like Norwegian and Wow Air" and "We are going to do that".

United says it plans to increase connectivity at Newark and growing Atlantic capacity.

In 2016, Norwegian alone grew its available seat miles (ASMs) by more than 50 per cent and Iceland's Wow nearly 300 per cent year-over-year.
