Europe rules against bird strike claims

Passengers who anticipated payouts of up to EUR600 for European flight delays caused by bird strikes have been told to 'forget it'.
The European Court of Justice (ECJ) has ruled "a collision between an aircraft and a bird is an extraordinary circumstance" and airlines can reject claims for compensation.
 
Airlines say bird strikes are beyond their control and have welcomed the verdict.
