Glasgow Airport acts to cut booze queue delays

Scotland's Glasgow Airport is revamping its security area to cut delays caused by passengers ignoring restrictions on cabin-baggage liquids.

Despite more than four years of restrictions, security staff still confiscate hundreds of bottles a day.

Officials say so many travellers are stopped with too-large liquid containers in their hand luggage that they have launched a trial of new
procedures in the search area.

An airport spokesman said: "Despite security restrictions having been in place for more than four years, we are still confiscating a considerable
amount of liquids on a daily basis.

"In addition to publicising the information on our website and displaying signs throughout the terminal building, we are currently trialling a revised layout of the security area which now includes a preparation station for passengers."
