University claims the largest 3D printer in the world

The University of Maine, USA, claims the largest 3D printer in the world, named the 'Factory of the Future 1.0 (FoF 1.0)'.

It's four times larger than the university's previous world-record-breaking 3D printer, MasterPrint and can produce items measuring up to 96 feet long, 32 feet wide and 18 feet high.

It's also able to handle processes like 'additive manufacturing' and 'continuous tape layup', providing a cost-efficient and eco-friendly manufacturing method that can solve national security problems, housing, bridge construction and marine vessel fabrication.
