In a thinly-veiled response to the European Union's continued move toward its unpopular Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) and with Australian prime minister Julia Gillard also looking likely to push for a carbon tax system, Australia's Qantas boss Alan Joyce says having regions or individual countries impose carbon taxes and emissions trading schemes will distort the aviation industry.
