Incheon to be sold

The South Korean government intends to sell 49 per cent of Incheon Airport, with an initial public offering next year to sell up to 15 per cent and then another 34 per cent through a strategic alliance with a foreign airport management firm or an additional stock listing, the Transport Ministry said in a statement.

T&E challenges airline emissions figures

The European Federation for Transport and Environment (T&E), a non-government group specialising in transport policy, has queried the airline industry’s claim that it is only responsible for around two per cent of carbon dioxide emissions, saying this excludes the contribution to global warming from nitrogen oxides, condensation trails created in the wake of aircraft and the formation of cirrus clouds, which have been calculated to have two to five times the global warming impact of carbon dioxide alone.
