Singapore Changi Airport handled 32.2 million passenger movements in 2022, almost half its 2019 total before the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. Aircraft movements - landings and takeoffs - totalled 219,000, 57.2 per cent of 2019 levels. Airfreight throughput registered 1.85 million tonnes for 2022, a year-on-year decline of 4.8 per cent.

WFS wins Zonteng's Paris business

Chinese e-commerce logistics firm Zongteng Group has contracted WFS to handle its new B777 freighter flights between Shenzhen and Paris Charles de Gaulle, France.
Capacity will be about 15,000 tonnes annually until, if as expected, Zongteng adds a second B777F in the third quarter of the year.

Gebrüder Weiss starts using e-cargo bikes

Austria-based logistics company Gebrüder Weiss now offers its customers an eco-friendly transport solution - an e-cargo bike to deliver consignments to private households and companies. 

The vehicle, like an e-bike, moves using an electric motor and can transport consignments with a total weight of up to 200 kilograms up to 80 kilometres on one battery charge. 

There are plans to expand the service.
