Deutsche Post World Net has appointed Joe Phelan chief executive officer of DHL Global Mail, effective October 1, 2008.
Phelan previously was president and ceo of the company's Americas business division.

Germany's Lufthansa Cargo will further expand airfreight capacity at the start of the winter flight schedules on 26 October, especially on routes to North America. Aside from an additional MD-11 freighter connection on Fridays to New York (JFK), a further flight from Frankfurt will be added to Chicago on Wednesdays.
