Express Air appoints FL Technics

Tunisian start-up Express Air Cargo has appointed FL Technics as its maintenance, repair and overhaul service provider, with FL providing re-delivery checks on the carrier’s two (owned) Boeing 737 freighter aircraft.


The airline is owned by Anis Riahi and originally was due to launch in January this year, but now will begin operations in early September in two phases, the first of which will provide daily connections from northern Africa to Cologne Airport and Paris Charles de Gaulle.


The second phase, which is expected to launch in January 2017, will include central and western African destinations.


Later, the airline wants to add another B737-300 and eventually a B767 and small feeder planes.


It also will have warehouse operations in Paris, Morocco and Tunisia.


Target market is integrators including UPS, DHL, TNT, FedEx, Aramex.
