Managing director of ABX World, captain John Okakpu says Nigeria will be able to process agricultural produce worth over US$350 billion for export through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos in the next 10 years.
He said the projection is based on agricultural export initiatives put in place by a number of state governments.

Products already being exported include yams, potatoes, pineapples, okro, pumpkin leaves and bitter-leaf.

Okakpu said: “This year has been remarkable in terms of agricultural exports."

He added: "I am happy that the National Assembly is reviewing some of the laws governing exports of agriculture produce.”

He wants the Federal Government to assist farmers to obtain cheap loans and to provide the necessary logistics to make farming attractive to young Nigerians, adding that the nation has yet to tap half of its agricultural potential.
