Schenker will be responsible for spares, components and materials in and out of the terminal, both domestically and internationally.
The contract takes in the whole spectrum of logistics movements including air and sea freight, express courier parcel movements, break bulk and heavy lift project forwarding elements.
Supplies into South Hook arrive from Australia, North America, the Far East and Europe and the numbers associated with the throughput of gas all are high.
South Hook - a strategic partnership between Qatar and the UK - can process 15.6 million tonnes of LNG per annum and is capable of delivering 21 billion cubic metres of gas per annum into the UK's national transmission system, a substantial portion of the nation's gas requirement.
