Forgeard has been replaced by Louis Gallois (62) as EADS’ chief executive officer. EADS says Gallois, currently, president of the French railway company SNCF, has broad experience in industrial and especially aerospace businesses. Christian Streiff (51) has been nominated as Airbus chief executive officer with immediate effect. Streiff was previously with Saint-Gobain, a diversified multinational company.
Meanwhile, EADS has agreed a price of € 2.75 billion for BAE Systems’ 20 percent stake in Airbus. The transaction remains subject to BAE Systems’ shareholder approval.
