SIA sends accident team to Bangkok

Singapore Airlines has sent a team to Thailand to help investigate a case of turbulence that killed one passenger and injured dozens on a flight from London to Singapore and saw the plane divert to Bangkok.

The Boeing 777-300ER made an emergency landing at Suvarnabhumi International Airport, with many of the six dozen or so injured treated first on the runway and then transferred to the local Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital.

The hospital later said six passengers had been 'severely injured'.

"We are providing all possible assistance to the passengers and crew at the hospital and the airport," SIA said.
